Carolyn Stewart

New York, NY

Originally from Clifton Park, New York, Carolyn is currently living in New York City and pursuing her M.D. at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is excited to be contributing to the Preface Project, and believes strongly that the expansion of opportunities for young learners, and the improvement of early childhood literacy has the potential to impact all aspects of life, including physical and mental health.

During her time in medical school, Carolyn has volunteered with several education-based organizations, including a mentorship program for high school students underrepresented in medicine, and an after-school program teaching the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to elementary students in Harlem. Previously, she served as a Research Study Assistant at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and spent time as a Software Developer for The Center for Open Science in Charlottesville, VA.

An alumna of Shenendehowa High School, Carolyn graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Molecular Biology and a certificate in Applications of Computing.
